« Hard Times in the Mill » reinstates Fundy National Park’s industrial history into the park. A drawing located at the East Branch terminus maps the river used to transport logs from the East Branch dam to Point Wolfe saw mill. A video of the artist performing Pete Seeger’s song “Hard Times in the Mill” at the Point Wolfe covered bridge will loop in the gallery space. Together these works bring the history of Fundy’s logging industry into the present while also discussing ideas of romanticism and industrialisation which are relevant to the history of the national parks’ beginnings.
