My art practice stems from a deep-rooted love of nature and respect for the environment. Flora of the Upper Salmon River Trail explores the different ways in which people think about and interact with the natural world. A bookwork found at the trailhead seeks to educate the public on Indigenous uses of plants found on the Upper Salmon River trail, and remind visitors that the wilderness that makes up Fundy National Park existed long before our time. Nine van dyke prints, a 19th century photographic process, depict the flora of the trail, intended to reflect the steadfastness of nature.
