Parables are a method of teaching in both Judaism and Christianity where the listener discovers parallels and truths for themselves. In the same way, this piece is intended to evoke in the viewer a sense of mystery, compelling them to look at the world through a new lens. I’m interested in the parallels between physical and spiritual sight, and peoples’ responses to both.

For city-dwellers, the national park is a sacred space, an escape from the pressures of success, competition, and consumption. Nature is a place to release stress and reconnect with a holistic view of creation.
